Seaport Airlines flew its first flight out of El Dorado this morning. Not long after, officials from Seaport flew in to town for a ribbon cutting. And tons of folks got together at South Arkansas Regional Airport this morning to show support for the new airline. It’s been more than a year since the town has had commercial air service. Seaport offers three flights a day out of El Dorado flying to Memphis, Tennessee. Seaport Airlines CEO Kent Craford said, “Keep in mind Memphis has over 80 destinations served none stop across the country and all over the globe. So with one quick hop from El Dorado you can get almost anywhere in the world so it’s really convenient.” “We also have very convenient times for day travelers to Memphis you can leave in the morning, get to Memphis, do a days worth of business and still get home for dinner. That’s also a big advantage flying with us.” Seaport also serves three other Arkansas towns, Hot Springs, Jonesboro and Harrison. Flights are only 49 dollars one way if you book at least 21 days in advance. The flight takes about an hour in a half on a single engine, nine passenger plane.
