Ruston Power Outage

The entire city of Ruston was without power for most of the day today.  The city’s main transformer failed.  The Mayor of Ruston, Dan Hollingsworth describes today’s situation at catastrophic.  The biggest concern from the outage was restoring power quickly in order to use the city’s water pumps.

The city has been working overtime trying to restore power.  They are trying use the city’s back up transformers.  They hope the transformers will restore power to the city by the end of the day. 

The cause of the failure is not known at this time.  Officials have someone coming to investigate the cause of the failure sometime next week.
