Area universities are fighting the H1N1 virus on their campuses

Friday ULM gave out H1N1 flu vaccinations to students and faculty.

ULM officials say the DHH gave them about 800 doses of the vaccine.

In Grambling, GSU will start distributing their 11-hundred doses on Monday and Tuesday in the student union.

And in Ruston, Louisiana Tech officials say they have about 300 doses of H1N1 vaccine.

Tech officials are unsure when they can start giving the vaccine out.

 

H1N1 Vaccine Distribution:

For ULM students and faculty:

Nov. 13- 1 p.m-4 p.m.; Nov. 14- 8 a.m.-4 p.m.; Nov. 20-21

All vaccinations given at Student Health Center Clinic on ULM’S campus.

 

For Grambling State students and Faculty:

Nov. 23-24 and Nov. 30

All times are 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. in the Student Union Black and Gold Room.

 

Must meet one of the following Criteria for H1N1 Vaccine:

-Pregnant women

-People who provide care to infants under 6 months

-Health care and emergency personnel

-People age 25-64

-People age 25-64 who have certain medical conditions
