Homes Remain Cut-off by Water for 3 months

Everyday, two or three times a day...Wayne Farmer gets into a boat
Passes by his neighbor Ray's.
And cruises to his secluded home...
Wayne Farmer said, "It's not too bad, I've gotten used to it now."
That's because farmer's home has been cut off by high water for 3 months. In October, record rainfall flooded the Ouachita river. Water covered his neighborhood streets and even got inside his home. This is what his house looked like in November.
Farmer said,"I took out all the sheet rock cause it was wet from mold."
And this is it two months later....
Farmer said, "It didn't do no good, spent two days power washing and it came right back."
He says it seems like every time the river goes down enough for him to clean up.
Here comes the rain. "I'd like for it to get back like it was, but you got to wait and see what the rain is going to do."
Farmer says as long as the water stands 5 to six feet high, his life will remain at a standstill.
Farmer said, "I wouldn't know how to act to get the car out and drive it, been used to a boat These piles of moldy sheet rock will stay on his deck. All of his furniture will stay crammed on the second floor.
Farmer said, "Damage is already done, can't hurt me no more, just have to live with it."
And he'll continue trying to make the best of it.
