Snow...this soft white fluffy stuff is such a rare sight, people here can barely remember the last time they saw it stick--let alone what to do with it.
P & M Hardware's Mark Hammons said, "I tell everybody, gossip has it next couple of days we've got 5 inches of snow."
Mark Hammons says people have been wandering into P & M Hardware picking up the things they need to make it through the upcoming snow days.
Hammons said, "Number one would be our fire starters and fire wood. We have bedding hay that you use to care for your animals so they have a dry place to sleep."
Those items will make sure your family and pets are warm, but what about your car? A can of deicer spray, a windshield scraper and rock salt will go a long way. But you should start looking now. Many stores say they don't carry these items since it almost never snows.
Academy Sports and Outdoors Director Heath Williams Williams said, "I think people are thinking about provisions and getting ready for the snow, but they're not thinking about the fun in the snow yet."
And then there's getting ready to have fun.
Williams said, "Kids will be out of school if it does snow, so they might want to give them something to do."
But if you're looking for snow sports gear, in the store, you'll have to get creative If you can't find a snow board, all you have to do is get a garbage lid or a cardboard box, find a hill and have a good time. The closest we could find was summer gear that can double as makeshift snow sled.
Williams said, "This would be a perfect item, you're looking at a 10 dollar board that we have and you could actually modify this and use this if you were a kid and you could use it down the slope."
