Snow Men Melt But Memories Last Forever

Friday morning, while many people were outside playing in the snow, architects at Herbert Land were stuck inside...working.

Bill Land said, "Nobody wanted to be working today."

Good thing the computer gods were listening.

Bill Land said "We had a computer malfunction and I told the guys to go outside and take a snow break."

They put down their rulers... Started rolling gigantic snowballs, And who needs coal or carrots, when you've got a few product samples for eyes and buttons. An hour or so later, a group of architects used to building million dollar buildings. Created an 8 foot snowman for a fraction of the cost.

Bill Land said, "To get all the guys together, to be able to do something like this, creates memories that will last a lifetime."

Too bad their snow man won't. Hours later, he was only about 5 feet tall. A victim of the sun's warmth. Much like the Ormonds front yard. It was blanketed with snow Friday morning.

Jake Ormond said, "When he was bringing it to us, the yard was coming back to grass."

There was so much snow, Jake and john Ormond built this snow deer and this snow man...who likes coke-cola.

John Ormond said,"Its an antique we decided just for it to have the coke there, you know live it up a little bit."

They're some of the last standing snow monuments--proof there was this much snow here in northeast Louisiana. While some people are content to let their snow creations melt away, others prefer to go out with a bang. Thankfully, photos and memories are forever.

Goodbye snow men, it was fun, while it lasted.
