Snow is not that uncommon during the winter months in the south, however it is not likely that snow will stick to the ground.  The last big snow fall was in the early two thousands which leaves the majority of children in the Arklamiss not knowing just how fun a snow day can be.  Thursday and Friday’s snow fall will finally allow for kids to make snowmen, have snowball fights, and go snow sledding.

Despite schools being closed, kids woke up as soon as the sun came out to see a winter wonderland of snowfall.  It did not take long before levees at Forsythe Park in Monroe were lined with dozens of families sliding down the slippery slopes with make-shift sleds.

Parents were determined to make this snow day one their families would never forget.
