There’s a new dirt track in Union Parish.
In a market that's not been so kind to racing, the owner believes his track has the green light for success.
Raceways don't exactly have a good track record in the Ark-La-Miss, but the owner of USA Speedway in Union Parish says the new dirt track is just what the area needs.
“They’ve always been known for the bootleg racing in the south from years back and it draws people,” said USA Speedway Owner Casey Hobson.

But can USA Speedway have a winning tradition in the Ark-La-Miss?
Local racing fan Sonny Grant says yes.
"This is grass roots racing right here all your local people this is where they're coming,” said Sonny Grant.
Still two dirt tracks in the area, Chatham and Farmerville put up a red light and closed their gates over the last few years and Monroe Motor Speedway is still under caution in bankruptcy
But hobson says his track will be different offering family based entertainment
"Not saying anything bad about a concrete track racing but this is more exciting,” said Hobson.
He says all you have to do to see that USA Speedway is in for a winning record is to look at the track's debut last Friday with about a thousand people showing up.
"The stands were packed," said Hobson.

Hobson says the track will be multi-purpose.
He says in may the center track will be designed for Motocross adding another attraction to USA Speedway.
