The day before Easter has a different meaning for Marquita Robinson and her family. It's the day her brother, 25 year old Regionald Green was gunned down in front of their house.
Marquita Robinson said, "I'll never forget my brother looking like that, it looks fake."
Robinson says family and friends were outside enjoying the warmer temperatures when a car slowly rolled down her street.
Robinson said, "By that time another car was coming up behind him they had no lights on they had their parking lights on and they were coming up."
Family members say the car stopped in front of the house and that's when police say 33 year old Bryant Bethley got out of his car.
"Robinson says this is the area where her brother was sitting inside his car with his cousins and girlfriend, she says she went inside her house and the next thing she knew, shots were fired."
That's when Robinson ran outside of her house.
Robinson said, "I went to the car and I seen my brother and he was dead, they blew his face off."
Family members say Bethley got mad at Green after he asked him if he took his mother rent money. Police say Green's death was the first murder of the year, but community activists say one murder is one too many.
Justin Conner said, "We are trying to mobilize the ministries of the religious community to take to the street to combat what we call horrific violence."
Violence that left a 6 year old boy without a father and a sister left with nothing but memories.
Robinson said, "He said your heart too kind, he told me to stay focused."
