Finalists For Monroe City School Superintendent

The board votes unanimously to consider two men and one woman as the next superintendent for Monroe City Schools.
This after meeting with their consulting firm, McPherson and Jacobson to find out who the consultants selected.
Board president, Mickey Traweek says, "We're excited at this point. Everything has moved as we anticipated, excited to get going."
Consultant, Thomas Jacobson, says, "We had very, very strong candidates, impressed with the numbers and quality. It took us a long time to narrow it down. Then the board looked at those candidates and agreed those were the ones they wanted to interview."
The consultants looked into the character, competency, fitness, and backgrounds of 18 people who followed the applications process accurately and narrowed them down to these three people.Lionel Jackson of
He is presently the assistant superintendent for the Tangipahoa Parish school system.
He’s also served as principal the director of child welfare, and teacher for that same district.
The second candidate is Dr. Kathleen Harris of
She is presently the assistant superintendent for the Raytown C-2 School district.
She’s also served as lecturer, state supervisor of instruction, principal and teacher.

He is presently the superintendent of Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District in
The school board will begin interviewing for the job on June 7th, 8th, and 9th.
They hope to have the job filled by the 15th.
