Witnesses On Stand For Jason Davis Murder Trial

The murder trial of Jason Davis resumed this morning. The trial was abruptly dismissed yesterday but continued today with key witnesses taking the stand. NBC 10 was in court today. Jason Davis is accused of stabbing Joe Jones to death last summer and leaving his body in Swartz woods. The investigation began when Jones' bloody work truck was found in a Swartz car wash. The medical condition of a juror caused court to end early Wednesday, but an alternate was put in place. Testimony began today with the two people who last saw Jones before his death, and key investigators from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Department. Surveillance video was showed again in court today, showing the victim's truck which contained blood and fingerprints. Jurors also saw the bloodied shirt that Davis had been wearing in the video before the murder. It was found on the floor of the truck. The jury was also shown graphic images of Jones’s bloody body that had been stabbed several times. It was so graphic some people in the audience left the courtroom. The court is still in session.
