Summertime is here and that means one thing: it’s time to chill out with the animals at the Monroe Zoo!

The kids put on their bathing suits and sun gear for Wet N Wild at the Monroe Zoo—it’s a fundraising event that’s meant to help bring more animals to the zoo, and promote wildlife education programs.

Kids beat the heat Saturday afternoon, slipping and sliding, and sometimes getting dunked in the water.

“I have a young man who’s my neighbor, from Richwood High School, he’s in the dunking booth, he’s volunteered for the dunking booth,” said Virginia Davis. She brought three young volunteers to help watch the smaller children play it safe.

“Brought my son out here for a nice day of fun in the zoo. Play on the slide and that type of thing!” said Brian Barnes, who was out with his family.
