Ever tell your teenager at home to get a job? We know some motivated kids who took that advice.
Teens got a crash course in the rules of the workplace, from professionals who know best at the New Beginnings Worship Center on Winnsboro Road.
About 50 local teenagers, some as young, as 15 years old, attended the career development workshop.
Students got advice in resume building, what not to wear at work, character and ethics, and were taught to set their sights on higher education.
The goal of the career development workshop is to help high school students land job interviews.
“Hopefully, they will take what they already possess within them. Sometimes, you need someone to show you what you already have within yourself. That’s what we provide. They’ll use this in their careers,” said Rev. Lorenzo Wright.
Business leaders, education professionals, health care workers, and members of Grambling State University offered to mentor the children.
