Children are learning what the Fourth of July is all about, by taking a walk in the park!
About 1500 people packed Triangle Park in Monroe, for the Monroe Rotary Club Children’s Parade this morning.
Our founding fathers decked out in full costume made an appearance, but the children who were decked out in red, white, and blue outfits were the stars of the parade lineup.
Families brought out their patriotic pets, and kids rolled in on their scooters in the spirit of Independence Day.
For some kids, it was the first time they’ve celebrated America’s birthday, but the Rotary Club’s sponsored this fun parade for over 20 years.
Organizers say the event teaches children the importance of American traditions and July 4.
