A Park is Bringing a School & Community Together

By: Kayleigh Klaustermeier

Glen View Elementary in Ruston will soon have a new place to play. A playground will be built on school property, but everyone in the community will be allowed to play at the park. It is all because the new playground is being funded and built by the city of Ruston and the Lincoln Parish School Board. It is not just the cost that will be split; the park times will also be split. During school hours the park will be used by the school, but everyone can use the facility after school hours. Clearing of the site has occurred, but a full plan has yet to be agreed on between the two parties. A construction plan will not be made until all of the details are hammered out.
