Burglars have invaded a quiet neighborhood in Ouachita Parish, and folks say they’re ready to take their neighborhoods back.

Sheriff’s officials say five homes in northeast Ouachita Parish, along Watson School Road, were raided for guns, electronics, and valuables in just one night.

The crime scene has rattled neighbors, who aren’t even used to locking their doors at night.

But to prevent future break-ins, neighbors say they’ll do whatever it takes, like Sonny Wright, who’s lived in that area for 73 years.

“Yeah! They’re concerned. They’re bearing arms. They’re tired of it! A guy named Wayne Wright down the road here got his house broke into twice! They kicked the door in, and took his televisions,” said Wright.

Investigators need your help by reporting suspicious activities in the area.

If you have a crime tip that could help investigators, call the sheriff's office at 329-1200.
