Monroe Transit may soon be rolling through West Monroe. West Monroe officials along with Monroe Transit are working out a plan to bring a bus route to the city. Monroe Transit Director, Valerie McElhose says ideas for the route are already being tossed around. The potential route would be made up of one bus which will loop almost seven miles hitting busy sections of the city, like Thomas Road and Cypress. The route will start and end at the main transit post in downtown Monroe. Some are welcoming the potential new route while others are not thrilled about paying for Transit. West Monroe City will have to pay in order to get the service up and running. Both parties say they do not know when a decision will be made.
