We begin with breaking news this evening. Controversial Monroe City School Board member Stephanie Smith is out of the race to regain her seat. The district attorney made the announcement just moments ago. The district attorney's say Stephanie Smith withdrew about an hour ago. Smith qualified last week to run for her fourth term serving District 6. She did so -- amid questions over whether she actually lived in the city of Monroe. Her would-be opponent in the race, Verbon Muhammad, formally contested Smith's residency this week. Muhammad claims he only saw smith at her Monroe home during election season. Smith was to appear in court Monday morning to face the charges that she lived in the city and not the parish. If smith had been found to live in Ouachita parish and not the city, she could have faced criminal charges.
