Two teenagers rescued a family from a deadly crash in Ouachita Parish, which claimed the life of a mother from Calhoun.

Just after 2 a.m., a wrecker pulled out this Chevy Tahoe, which was completely under the waters of Cheniere Lake.

Louisiana State Police rushed to the scene of a fatal single-car crash off Highway 3033 in Ouachita Parish.

Officials say a family was riding north on Highway 3033, and it was turning a slight curve to the right, when it crossed the center line and ran off the west side of roadway.

The Tahoe ran off into a watery embankment and plunged into Cheniere Lake.

Police say the passenger, 28-year-old Jessica Kelley of Calhoun, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two teenagers who were driving by, jumped into the lake and pulled out the driver, Steven Kelley, and a toddler.

Both of the surviving victims, including the baby, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

State police issued a ticket to the driver, Steven Kelley, for careless operation. Police do not suspect impairment at this time.

An autopsy of Jessica Kelley will be performed in Little Rock. The crash and the cause of death are still under investigation.
