Surprise Knife Attack in Monroe Lands Two People in OCC

A 911 call about a fight turns out to be a surprise knife attack in the middle of the night, which landed two people in OCC.
Deputies arrested 18-year-old Serenity Dunn of Monroe. Dunn is facing a felony aggravated battery charge in connection with a stabbing.
Authorities also arrested a second person in the fight, 21-year-old Canan Gart.
Ouachita Parish deputies discovered a stabbing victim on Greenwood at Lockwood Drive, which is just off Tanglewood, around 1 a.m.
Witnesses say 18-year-old Serenity Dunn jumped out of a ditch, and stabbed a woman on the side of her torso.
Neighbors told deputies that Dunn ran to her house when she saw the police cruisers surrounding the streets.
During the investigation, witnesses identified a second person, Canan Gart, who was allegedly involved in the fight.
Deputies found brass knuckles on Gart, but he said he didn’t know where the weapon came from. Dunn denies involvement in the stabbing, according to the affidavit.
Gart is facing a charge of illegally carrying a dangerous weapon.
