Next Autoworks’ CEO to Meet with Governor Bobby Jindal

Next Autoworks’ new
CEO, Kathleen Ligocki, is scheduled to meet with Governor Bobby Jindal
according to a company spokesman.
Officials say Kathleen
Ligocki plans to meet and greet Governor Jindal to discuss her plans to move
the company forward.
The company’s
application for a $320 million federal loan was denied by the Department of
Energy back in April, but the company has since reapplied for federal money.
Officials with the
Ouachita Parish police jury say that no new taxes will be collected on their
2010 property tax bill to fund a bond obligation for Next Autoworks, since the
loan was denied.
$1.4 million
dollars of taxpayer money has already been collected to move the project
forward. The policy jury will continue to hold that money, pending action on
the loan application.
