Sheriff’s officials confirm that a woman was arrested for impersonating a police officer in Mississippi--who turns out to be the town clerk in Waterproof.

On Sunday, the Mississippi Highway Patrol pulled over 37-year-old Tonya Barlo for speeding in Adams County.

Tonya Barlo serves as the clerk for the town of Waterproof.

The sheriff of Adams County says Barlo was arrested for speeding, driving under a suspended license, having an expired inspection sticker, and impersonating a police officer.

Officials say she showed a badge to the trooper, which did not belong to a law enforcement officer.

The sheriff says the city worker was booked into the Adams County Jail on a $2,500 bond, and got out the same day.

Calls that were made to the town of Waterproof to determine whether Barlo still worked there were not even answered.
