Animal lovers in the Twin Cities are on the look out for a missing cat named Katie.

Katie belongs to a couple from North Carolina, who stayed overnight in Monroe, while on a trip to Texas for a course of cancer treatments. Its been almost two weeks, since the gray tabby went missing. However, Katie's owners and over a dozen people have not given up hope.

Vicki Green of Monroe, who is an animal lover, was one of the first to reach out to the couple, to aid in the search for the cat.  "A lot of animal lovers that are out there, are looking everyday and every night for Katie," she said.

Katie's owners are an elderly couple from Oriental, North Carolina. The husband is currently receiving treatment for prostate cancer. They stopped by Monroe, on the way to Houston for his treatment, and that's when they lost katie.

Vicki Green said that the couple has two cats. "(Katie) is her husband's favorite cat, and what she wrote in her email was that Katie makes him laugh, and I know right now, they need all the laughter they can get."

Katie was last seen on the parking lot of the Super 8 Motel, in Monroe on October 9th. So far, they have caught two cats around the area, but neither of them turned out to be Katie. "She could just be anywhere at this point., and so we don't know where to center our search," said Green.

Katie is a gray tabby cat, about 4 years old and 11 pounds. The reward for finding Katie is now $300. If you happen to find or spot a cat that fits Katie's description, call Vicki Green at 318-537-0087.
