Santa Claus came down from the skies on a plane at the Glenwood Medical Mall. He took photos and gave out candy canes to hundreds of children. There were also games, food, prizes and a special appearance from Ark-La-Miss idol, Lainey Wilson who performed some of Hannah Montana's biggest hits. Today's event was all about the children.
"We love to watch their faces. They have so much fun playing games, seeing Santa, getting their pictures and a chance to win prizes, it's great," said Director of Women’s and Children’s Services at Glenwood Medical Center, Naomi Bamburg.
"I love the kids. That's my job, loving those kids and I'm going to bring a lot of stuff to the Monroe area,” said Santa Claus.
"Im glad that our community can get together and do things like this. This is really what Christmas is about," Ark-La-Miss Idol, Lainey Wilson told NBC 10 News.
This is the fourth year Glenwood has hosted the event and officials say this year's crowd was the largest they've ever had.
