On Black Friday, stores will be opening as early as midnight offering doorbuster deals to get customers into their stores. For some, midnight wasn't early enough.
"We know that a lot of customers want to get a lot of shopping done early so we figured this would be a great opportunity for us to put out a lot of our great deals for the customers," Old Navy regional director, Allen Robinson said.
Getting a head start on the competition turned out to be a smart move for stores like Old Navy and Sears who opened their doors to customers looking for the perfect gifts for their friends and family.
"Traffic has been very steady today. We had a really good response early this morning with the doorbusters we had when we opened at 7 am," Sears store manager, Matt Mills told NBC 10 News.
So what are this year’s hottest gift ideas that are luring in shoppers?
"Electronic items. I'm looking for TVs, Blu-Ray players and I'm also looking for video games for her Wii and Playstation 3," said customer, Diane Perkins.
"Electronics have been really big for us this year. When you're looking at LED-TVs, the prices of plasmas and LCDs have come down tremendously over the year so a lot of great gifts," said Mills.
You can bet both of these stores will be re-opening bright and early for Black Friday.
