In Jackson Parish, police say a man caused a deadly car crash, then tried to flee from the scene.

Jonesboro police say Joseph Gray ran a red light on US-167 from Harrison Street. His car then crashed into a vehicle.  Gray later tried to flee on foot, but was picked up a few blocks away.

The driver that was hit was Gregory Bagwell, 35. He died from the crash.

Police say alcohol was a factor in the incident. Joseph Gray now faces charges of DWI, vehicular homicide and hit and run, among other charges.

Comments

Greg Bagwell was a coworker of mine in the Emergency Department at a local hospital. He was one of the most gentle and kind souls I have ever had the honor to know. He was a good friend and now he is dead. Just like that. No warning, no time to tell his family and friends goodbye. Because of the irresponsible actions of one person, the rest of us are left to grieve the loss. Goodbye Greg, you never deserved this.
