KARD FOX 14 & KTVE NBC 10's Foxy Peacocks will be competing with 12 other teams this Saturday, March 16th, 2013 at the Media Vs Public Softball Showdown community event benefitting the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Ouachita Parish.
Come see if our opponents have what it takes to beat our on-air and off-air talent and help us with the fight against cancer!
The first set of games will start at 10am, and the championship game will be start at 4pm. Awards will be given out to the 1st and 2nd place winners. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for children age 12 & younger.
The Foxy Peacocks will split the proceeds from event admission with all other Relay For Life teams that participate in the softball showdown for being a part of the event!
The Kiss the Pig collection jugs will be at the event so you may cast your vote by making a donation and help determine which on-air talent has to Kiss the Pig.
We would like to thank all of our participants that have signed up to compete in the event:
LA Delta Community College (2 teams), Shady Grove, WOHS, Woodlawn, Walgreens (2 teams),
Vantage Health Plan, American Cancer Society, Pitch A Fit, Fawn Circle Injuns, & Stoked
The concession items for sale that day will include hot dogs, frito pies, nachos, caramel apple bites, candy, pickles, drinks and more.
There will also be raffles & treat bags for sale.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.

Saturday, March 16th, 2013 - 10 AM to 5 PM
White's Ferry Road Sports Complex
3200 Block of North 7th St., West Monroe, LA 71291
Cost of Admission:
$2 for Adults, $1 for Children 12 & Younger
Official Rules of Tournament:
We will be playing by USSSA Rules
50 minute time-limit per game
No metal cleats
1 strike 1 ball count as batter comes up to plate
Full-coverage shoes (no flip flops, sandals, or crocks)
3 homerun (over the fence) limit per team, per game (all others will be counted as an out)
Safety zone around pitcher (line drives inside safety zone is automatic out)
Anyone can play anywhere in the field
Courtesy foul
Additional rules will be covered at the coin-toss
