Arkansas State Representative Butch Wilkins says he will introduce a bill that would raise Arkansas' minimum wage to $8.25 an hour.
Right now the minimum wage in Arkansas is $6.25 an hour, a dollar below the federal level.
The minimum wage in three other states, Georgia, Wyoming and Minnesota, are also lower than the federal level.
On his Facebook page, Rep. Wilkins wrote "Well the word is pretty well out that I plan to present a minimun wage bill during this session. I look forward to be able to help the working poor."
