Runoff Elections Set for Saturday

It's back to the polls Saturday for voters in Louisiana. They'll be deciding on several runoff elections including the District 3 City Council seat in Monroe. Betty Blakes is facing off against Juanita Woods.

Blakes was won 40 percent of the vote on the November 6 election, with Woods coming in second.
Recently Woods has picked up some key endorsements from former council candidates, two sitting Ouachita Parish Police Jurors and Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo.

In Farmerville, voters there will vote in the District B Alderman race between Lavelle Maine and Wille Payne.
In Newellton, the race for Mayor is between Carroll Fuller and Timothy Turner.

Voters in Jonesboro will vote on two propositions. Prop 1 is a 5 mill for 5 years tax for funding the fire department, and Prop 2 is a 5 mills for 5 years tax for maintaining and improving streets.

In Chatham there is a race for police chief between David McManus Jr. and "Mike" Wilson.

In Morehouse Parish, voters will decide on a $2.6 million school bond issue. If approved, the money would be used to help pay for some much needed repairs on school buildings.

In East Carroll Parish, voters will decide on 2 mill tax for 10 years. The money from this would go towards improving, maintaining and operating an enhanced 911 telephone system in the parish.

In Concordia Parish, voters in Ferriday will vote in the Alderman District B race between Elijah "Stepper" Banks and "Chris" Chatman.

There is also a race for School Board Dist. 4, Place B. Jeffery Goodman is going up against Angela Hayes.

Voters in Catahoula, Lasalle, and Winn will also be voting on different elections.

NBC 10 will have complete election results Saturday night at 10p.
