By: Brea Douglas
Updated: January 8, 2013

Hampton will have a special election Tuesday to elect a mayor to replace former Mayor Phillip Swofford.

Three names are on the ballot for the position.

The special election is a result of Swofford resigning last fall after much controversy surrounding his competency to lead the city.

Hours for voting are until 7 p.m. at the Calhoun County Courthouse.
